See 'CPU Strategy' page + Manual Dice option (use real-world dice) to prove to yourself that it doesn't*. Under the premise that there's always room for improvement, this version of backgammon is better than most of the freebees that are out there - but it could be so much better. ![]() The game graphics are old fashioned - not optimized for good game play. So easy to hit something incorrectly and make an error move. I found that it's best to use a stylis for this game. What I like about the game is the aggressive 'expert' mode. At first, it may appear that the game is 'cheating' - but what is really going on is that the game uses a very nice algorithm to 'guess' the best possible moves with a given roll. Some of the solutions are insanely predictive - which gives the impression that the game is getting the rolls it needs to win. Why I like this feature - it's instructive. Good training for live games. I'll be happy if in future versions the publisher optimizes game play. It says it doesn't cheat but it looks like over a hundred people can't be wrong and this one person be right. Maybe she doesn't play the game or she would realize it for herself.I have five out of 6 on the computers side closed every roll it gets out, this is not random, this is not true game play, it is downright cheating. Also, you can be up on the game and all of a sudden it gets double double double to catch up more cheating. I will have just one out of 6 covered at my home side and guess what I will all of a sudden get double of that number. Please heed my warning this game is the most cheating b.s. Game out there. It sometimes gets rolls that defy logic when it needs them. Good way to pass some time if you like backgammon. Sometimes it makes totally stupid moves even at level 5 difficulty setting that no rational player would make. They keep insisting that the game is truly random, I say baloney. Chances of getting the perfect roll are 1 in 36. The perfect roll happens way to often for the opponent here. If you are good at backgammon and you play enough games you can learn to beat it often enough to make it fun. ANYWAY YOUR APP IS BECOMING INTELLIGENT? EITHER MY GAME IS WAY OFF OR YOUR APP IS LEARNING TO ANTICIPAYE MY MOVES AND ACTUALLY 'THINKING AHEAD I SWEAR! STILL HAVING FUN EITH IT AND HAVE REINSTALLED IT OVER AT LEAST FIVE CELL PHONES IVE PURCHASED OVER A COUPLE OF YEARS. Backgammon my cultural heritage. I am Armenian. I love this app because it really plays its side well. In other words it's fresh, challenging, & entertaining. You have a real winner when downloading this game. EMC on Samsung J7 Perx. I've been playing this particular game for years. No matter what the developers tell you about randomness - and I believe they think they are correct - there is no way the random dice generator is random. Maybe it's time they fix it. I fixed it by finding another backgammon program. The graphics aren't as smooth, and game play is slow, but it seems the programmer knows a thing or two about random chance. Much more realistic in that regard. Problem is their game seems easy to win eventhough I'm ahead with both games. I've now played both games side by side for some time and the differences are obvious and astounding. Only downside is the sometimes the pieces get moved incorrectly. For those the complain of cheating here are my stats for just my phone; matches won me (447) ai (377), rounds won me (447) ai (377), total points me (485) ai (388), opponent pieces hit me (1089) ai (1051), total doubles me (3069) ai (2979), 1st dice rolls won me (398) ai (426). This is just level 5. I've had games where I just smoke the ai, it's all about good piece placement and lucky next rolls. I've had a few perfect games (where I score 167 points). What are the odds that I roll a 3 on one Dice and a one on the other three times in a row, and the computer rolls two double six and has at least two more doubles in the game? If I play ten games in a row, the computer wins the first roll an average eight times. True the game is addictive but no matter how many times you say it's not computer favorite, the odds prove that it is. But still a good game.,my God it's so computer favorite, it's giving me a headache! Just an update a few months since my original comments, still extremely computer favorite, just played needed 6 pieces off to win, computer needed 12 off,the computer rolls three doubles in a row, really!! And you constantly respond back to all complaints that it's random, but it seems the response to us is computer generated, lol. When playing the lower levels, you'll get a lot of backgammon & gammon wins because the cpu doesn't manage their pips wisely. When playing level 5, I've noticed the cpu gets a lot more meaningful doubles. I had one game where it had 9 doubles to my 3 (2 of which came after the outcome was pretty much decided). Also, I find it strange that I've yet to start a round with a double being thrown.with over 150 rounds played, you would think at least one double would be thrown. In response to the developers: I'm not knocking the CPU's game strategy in level 5; in fact, I enjoy the challenge. What I don't like is the increased occurances of meaningful doubles. Frequently getting back-to-back high valued doubles has nothing to do with strategy. Nor does getting out doubled 7 to 1.
